What's next for Spider-Man after Brand New Day

Sony and Marvel Studios have not announced a sequel to Brand New Day, and there is no title, cast or release date. In August 2026, producer Amy Pascal told Deadline that the studios want Destin Daniel Cretton to direct again (as reported by ComingSoon). In September 2026, Deadline reported that Cretton is developing a big-screen Hawaii Five-O for Paramount and has a Naruto film in the works, so when he could return is an open question (as reported by ComicBookMovie). Tom Holland has said he is open to more, but no deal has been announced.

Brand New Day's post-credits scene does tease something. We explain it in Brand New Day's ending, explained (spoilers), but nothing about it has been confirmed.

Avengers: Doomsday opens December 18, 2026, with Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. Marvel has announced much of its cast, and Tom Holland is not on it. Avengers: Secret Wars follows on December 17, 2027; Marvel has announced only Robert Downey Jr. for it so far, and Holland is not among the actors reported. One Brand New Day actor is: Sadie Sink, the film's Jean Grey, has been reported for Secret Wars since November 2025, though Marvel has not confirmed it. The end of Sony's animated trilogy picks up where Across the Spider-Verse (2023) left off, with Miles Morales stuck on Earth-42 and the The Spot out to destroy his home universe. Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld return as Miles Morales (Spider-Verse films) and Gwen Stacy (Spider-Verse films). The date has moved several times since it was first set for 2024, and studio dates can still move. Season 2 of the animated Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man arrives on Disney+ on January 13, 2027. In 2026, Nicolas Cage played a 1930s Spider-Man in the live-action series Spider-Noir; he also voices Peter Parker (Spider-Man Noir, Earth-90214) in the Spider-Verse films.

The Amazing Spider-Man reached issue #1000 on September 30, 2026, a 104-page anniversary issue with stories from writers including Brian Michael Bendis, Dan Slott, Frank Miller, J.M. DeMatteis and Joe Kelly, whose run on the series continues with a new issue about every two weeks.
