Spider-Man vs. Wolverine
James Howlett, a fellow hero. In this site's ratings, the classic Peter Parker Spider-Man wins 45% of their one-on-one fights, so it is close to a coin flip.
The verdict: A coin flip, with Wolverine by a hair
Fight rules: both fighters at their peak, no preparation, no allies, only their own powers and personal gear. A win is a knockout, a restraint they can't escape, or a forced surrender. The percentages are fan estimates, not official information.
Spider-Man's edge
Twice as fast, far more agile and many times stronger. Spider-sense blunts his ambushes, and webbing can pin his arms long enough to choke him out.
Wolverine's edge
Adamantium claws and skeleton, a healing factor that undoes any beating, a nose that tracks anyone, and a century of killing experience. The claws cut webbing, and he never stops coming.
Odds for every Spider-Man
Each version of Spider-Man's chance of beating Wolverine. The best placed, Cosmic Spider-Man, wins 80% of the time; the worst placed, Spider-Ham, wins 37%. The last column says what moves each version away from classic Peter's 45%.

Who is Wolverine?
James Howlett was born in 19th-century Canada, a sickly boy whose bone claws first emerged when his father was murdered in front of him. Living as Logan, he spent more than a century as a soldier, samurai and spy, and the Weapon X program bonded unbreakable adamantium to his skeleton and scrambled his memories. He debuted fighting the Hulk in 1974, joined the X-Men in 1975 and became the team's most famous member. His healing factor lets him survive almost anything, and he's the best there is at what he does.
