Who is Beetle?
Abner Jenkins was an aircraft mechanic who felt his talents were wasted, so he built a suit of winged, powered armor and became the Beetle. He debuted in Strange Tales #123 (1964), fighting the Human Torch and the Thing, and clashed with Spider-Man soon after. He kept upgrading the armor and joined the Sinister Syndicate and the Masters of Evil. He later reformed as MACH-1 in the Thunderbolts, and Tombstone's daughter, Janice Lincoln, took up the Beetle name.
