The verdict: A coin flip, with Venom by a hair

Fight rules: both fighters at their peak, no preparation, no allies, only their own powers and personal gear. A win is a knockout, a restraint they can't escape, or a forced surrender. The percentages are fan estimates, not official information.

Spider-Man's edge

Fire and sound hurt the symbiote, and Peter has decades of practice beating stronger opponents.

Venom's edge

Stronger than Spidey, invisible to his spider-sense, and the symbiote knows his moves because it once was his costume. It also makes its own webbing and can camouflage itself.

Odds for every Spider-Man

Who is Venom?

Eddie Brock was a reporter whose career collapsed after Spider-Man exposed the false Sin-Eater story he had published. The alien symbiote Peter had rejected bonded with Eddie, sharing his hatred, and together they became Venom in Amazing Spider-Man #300 (1988). Venom knows Peter's secret and doesn't set off his spider-sense. Eddie later became a 'lethal protector' and, after the King in Black, the king of the symbiotes.
