Who is Morlun?

Morlun is an ancient, nearly immortal being who feeds on the life force of 'totems', people whose powers come from animal spirits, and spider-totems are his favorite meal. He debuted in Amazing Spider-Man vol. 2 #30 (2001), where he beat Peter nearly to death before Peter poisoned him with radiation. He's one of the Inheritors, a family of totem-eaters led by his father, Solus. He has died and returned several times, and every return has meant a hunt.
